| The Great Depression.. |
1. It was starting to become clear that in 1921 a recession in the US had began. 2. Anyone could buy stocks worth $50,000 for only $500 down. 3. As the prices continued to drop the people got into a frenzy. 4. He got out of a major money loss by backing out of a bad deal. 5. The people who stayed, eventually went bankrupt and many killed themselves because they did not want to broke.
• What was responsible for making the prices go down? • Why were things in a frenzy? • How is buying broken down businesses going to help the economy? • What was the usual pay for brokers before the depression began?
